The baton-type hands have the same beige SuperLuminova coating. The look, the details of the indexes and hands evoke the back days design. The bracelet features a folding clasp with the DOXA fish symbol. The unidirectional rotating bezel has a SuperLumiNova luminescent coating Light Old Radium, that imitates the look of the radium luminescent used some decades ago. The bezel is half matt brushed, while the grip side features polished teeth. Its 42mm case is manufactured from a single block of 316L stainless steel. This table does not include accurate dates for Omega/ETA movements.The brand presents the SUB collection as the first diving watch to feature a patented rotating bezel that incorporates the US Navys no-decompression table. Note that Omega began using ETA movements in some of its watches in about 1980. As you can already see, this one is super. If you look a little harder, maybe you will find one with a stainless steel case with a black dial. While Doxa Triple Calendar Chronographs can be found with relative ease, most you see will feature a white dial with a gold case. This is a highly unusual Doxa for a few reasons. Given that little information can be found on pre-SUB Doxa watches, and but a few guidelines on how to identify them, let me share all the bits of info that I was able to put together. SERIAL NUMBER SYSTEM 1940-1966 In 1940, Doxa introduced a 7-digit serial number. ![]() This is one year before the official introduction of the US Diver's Doxa in 1967. Here's a classic original orange dial Doxa diver's automatic, made famous by the Dirk Pitt/Clive Cussler novels! This is a first generation Doxa diver, with the serial number dating it to 1966, the year the model was introduced at the Basel Watch Fair in Switzerland. Im struggelig finding much information about these online. Neither of them had a serial number or anything other than the Doxa vessel, but I dont know if it should be a serial number there or not. Ive found a couple of pictures of the caseback of two other 'non-t' 300s. ![]()
